Red Waves
A downloadable game
Made for the Acerola game jam.
Originally supposed to be a vampire survivors style roguelike but I couldn't get the systems working in time and ended up converting it into an endless score-chasing wave survival game.
Sound effects, music, art, and programming were all made by me during the jam.
Controls:
- Esc to exit
- wasd or arrow keys to move
- plus and minus keys change volume
- N mutes sound effects
- M mutes music
Tutorial since there isn't one ingame:
- Eat enemy corpses to level up. On level up your health is restored to full
- early game you'll want to keep all the enemies onscreen so they don't despawn and make you miss out on the xp.
- Later you might have to run away from larger hordes of enemies to get them off of corpse piles so you can run back and collect them.
- The giant slime enemy that shows up will eat smaller enemies and corpses. Healing slightly from each corpse. The giant slime will drop all collected experience on death in addition to it's own.
- If many giant slimes clump up it can be almost impossible to collect any experience from the area, since as soon as you kill one it's corpse will likely be eaten by another. So try to seperate individuals from the pack and stay close to them so you can grab the corpse immediately
- There are 30 waves of enemies. If you survive to the end they will start gaining power every 30 seconds.
Programs used:
- Godot
- Aseprite for sprites
- Bfxr for sounds
- BoscaCeoil for music
